Have you completed your schooling? Are you looking for an admission? Then this article is definitely for you if you are thinking to take admission in B.Tech.
Many of you have chosen B. Tech as your career after passing from school(so do I). Many people say that engineering is best for science (specifically for non-medical) students. But is this true? Have you ever consulted someone who has already done this course and what's their condition now? I'm sure a very few of you have done this.
Now the question arises why there are so many students pursuing b.tech only though we have so many other fields to choose as our career. Most of us prefer this because their parents wanted to do this (same reason why I have done this). Parents don't think bad about their kid because they feel that it's a right course and after doing this course, their child will achieve something significant in his/her career. No doubt many students have met, but most of them are in IITs and similar institutes. Only a few students who are not from such reputed colleges doing good in their life. Now not every student can get admission in these institutes. So many colleges have built in the country that from each of them many students are being passed out every year. We can get a rough approximation if in any college suppose there are 500 students are there in a batch from every branch, and there are 20 colleges in that state, then there would be approximately 1000 student from that particular state and around 30k students from all over India. Well, this a minimal amount I have taken, every year lakhs of students are being passed out, and there are a few opening in any organization due to which many engineers are unemployed. That's the current situation of our developing country. How could it become developed if a majority of youth is not doing anything? Playing games on mobile phone and thinking I have a jack and I'll be placed in the final semester, then you are totally wrong. If you want a job in a reputed firm then you have to do it yourself, no one can get you the skills to crack an interview, only you are the one who has to do work on yourself. So why not start from day one. But don't be a crammer, it will give you a good score and percentage but will not give you the skills. I have seen so many individuals who scored 80+ percentage in B.Tech but are still jobless. Getting this much amount of marks is not an easy task in B.Tech but cramming leads you nowhere.
As we know, millions of people around our country are being passed out as an engineer every year, and as the people are more, the demand for the job is less. Due to which the competition is fierce, and many students don't get a job in their respective fields. If you want that you get a job in your separate area, you need to be very good at it. And if you are then only it's recommendable to do it, otherwise there are so many career options you can choose.
You might be aware of the condition of the B.Tech graduates, and if not then I would like to share the same so that you can think once again before taking admission.
In the year 2008-2009, a significant recession has come in IT industry, and many IT engineers are fired. Since that time, there are few jobs left in IT sector. And graduates from other fields than IT/CS shifted in IT because of not getting a job in their respective areas.
Here I'm not saying that it is bad, but I'm just suggesting you all undergraduates to be very careful while choosing your career. Because you don't get a job with a high scale and even it might happen to so many engineers that they don't get a technical job and they are ready to do any job irrespective of the course they have done for four years. Instead of spending so much of money which may not prove to be fruitful, you must take a vice decision before doing that.
But if you still want to do B.Tech then I would recommend to do it from a college in which good companies came for placement with a higher package. There are many colleges in India in which companies like IBM, Yamaha Motors, JCB and much more companies like these came to hire freshers when they are in their last year. Get admission in those colleges, but the fees of these colleges are also very much. If you have that much potential to take admission in these colleges, then please do.
Thank you for reading this blog and giving your valuable time. Hope it might prove useful for you.
